Laurel Park Spring Concert Celebrates Musical Journey Through the Season!

Under the direction of Ms. Fernandez, the Laurel Park Spring Concert took flight on May 8 with wonderful performances from fourth- and fifth-grade instrumentalists and vocalists.

The concert kicked off with the fourth-grade instrument club, performing "Viva La Musica" and "Recorder Buddy" on the aforementioned recorders. The fourth-grade chorus then took the audience on a journey through the years of music, beginning with a rendition of Johnny Cash's "Orange Blossom Special." The chorus continued their part of the show with "The Clouds" before closing out their section of the concert with "Cover Me in Sunshine," made famous by pop-rock artist P!nk and her daughter Willow Sage Hart.

The fun continued with the fifth-grade instrument club's performances of "The Breeze" and "Africana Jam." The final group to perform was the fifth-grade chorus, who opened with a performance of Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" and closed with "Tres Canciones De Los Elementos" and "Sisi Ni Moja."
